LCD is the scientific name of LCD monitor, not LED as we often say. An LED is a liquid crystal cell placed between two parallel glass substrates, and a thin film transistor is placed on the glass of the lower substrate. A color filter is set on the upper base glass plate, and the rotation direction of the liquid crystal molecules is controlled by changing the signal and voltage on the thin film transistor, so as to control each pixel. Not only in the field of security monitoring, in fact, in the field of computer monitors and LCD TVs, LCD displays have occupied the top spot in applications. LCD displays have long penetrated our security life and are rapidly replacing traditional CRT monitor applications.

Many people like to describe LCD screens as LED displays. Liquid crystal display devices have also become the first recommendation of many manufacturers, and continue to create gimmicks that appeal to everyone. Nowadays, in the selection of monitoring display equipment, LCD display equipment has become our first choice, it can even be said that it is the only choice.

Technically speaking, LED backlights are more power efficient than LCDs. Although in terms of price, LEDs are more expensive than LCD displays, but they are more outstanding in color vividness and color saturation than LCDs. LEDs are also more expensive than LCD displays. From the perspective of imaging, LCD is a display composed of liquid crystals, while LED is a display composed of light-emitting diodes. In the backlight type, the LED monitor uses a diode to supply light, while the LCD display uses a cold cathode tube to supply light. LED does have more obvious advantages than LCD in technology. It has the characteristics of long service life, low heat, environmental protection, and good shock resistance. If the price difference between the two is much, LCD will not be considered. After all, the LCD display's light is also relatively soft, and the adjustable range is relatively high, and for the installation of some small and medium-sized security systems, cheap is still an inevitable consideration for many users. In addition, there is one thing that needs to be reminded that for current LED devices, although the backlight is using LED devices. However, on the LCD panel, the traditional LCD panel is still used as LCD.
