What is a touch screen?

A touch screen is an electronic input device, usually located on top of the visual display of an information handling system, that allows a user to control the device through simple or multi-touch gestures. Touchscreens allow users to control the device by interacting with the display itself, without the need for an external controller, such as an attached mouse or trackpad.
