Hazard and Protection of Static Electricity in LCD Manufacturing Process

10.07.2023

The Harm of Static Electricity to LCD Electronic Products:

(1) Electrostatic vacuuming reduces the insulation resistance of components and shortens the service life.

(2) Electrostatic discharge (ESD) electronic components cannot work due to damage.

(3) The electromagnetic field generated by electrostatic discharge is very large and the frequency spectrum is very wide. Electrostatic noise and electromagnetic interference make electronic equipment unable to work normally or even damage it.

LCD Anti-static Precautions:

(1) Treat all components as electrostatic sensitive devices.

(2) Never touch sensitive devices or components without a good grounding.

(3) If the IC is not on the process line or on the anti-static workbench, store it in a grounded shielded container.

(4) The anti-static workbench with IC must handle the circuit board.

(5) Wrist straps and shoe covers should be checked daily to ensure that the parameters meet the requirements.

(6)  All instruments and equipment should be grounded.

(7) The gas and liquid flow through the IC should be kept at a low speed.

(8) Without other anti-static measures, do not install the IC in the anti-static tube.

(9) Use a fixed-point ion eliminator in a process that may generate static electricity.

(10) The wrist strap should keep the human body and the ground equipotential.

(11) The ESD protection workbench should maintain the equipotential potential of the device and the ground.

(12) Static insulating materials are not placed in a safe area.
