What should be noted when using custom outdoor segment LCD screens?

04.11.2024

Protection Against UV Radiation:

LCD screens contain liquid crystals and polarizing organic materials that can undergo photochemical and degradation reactions when exposed to UV radiation. Therefore, it is necessary to consider whether to install UV-blocking filters or other UV protection methods for the outdoor segment LCD screens based on their purpose and environmental conditions. Avoid prolonged exposure to direct sunlight.

Temperature Considerations:

LCD states disappear when they exceed a certain temperature range, so they must be stored and used within the specified temperature range. If the temperature is too high, the LCD state will turn into a liquid state, resulting in a colored display and inability to function. In this case, please do not power it on and it will recover when the temperature drops. If the temperature is too low, frost-like patterns may form on the LCD, causing irreversible damage. Additionally, if LCD displays are stored at extreme temperatures for an extended period or subjected to vibration or impact, bubbles may form.

Anti-static Precautions During Production and Assembly:

Wear anti-static work clothing and ensure proper grounding of the human body. Workbenches, soldering irons, tools, etc., should be connected to a grounding wire.

Protection Against Harmful Gases:

LCD screens contain liquid crystals and polarizing films that can undergo chemical reactions and degradation in the presence of harmful gases. Therefore, measures should be taken to isolate the screens from harmful gases during usage. Furthermore, after the complete assembly of the device, it should not be sealed for an extended period to prevent high concentrations of chemical gases produced by plastic casings and circuit board cleaning agents from damaging the LCD and polarizing films. During the production process, attention must be paid to protective measures to prevent the influx of harmful gases into the body, and personal safety measures should be implemented.
