Key Considerations for Custom Outdoor Segment LCD Screens
07.09.2024
Prevent UV Radiation Exposure:
Segment LCD screens contain organic materials like liquid crystals and polarizing films that can undergo photochemical reactions and degradation when exposed to UV light. Therefore, whether to install UV-blocking filters or use other UV protection methods should be considered based on the intended use and environment. Avoid prolonged direct sunlight exposure during use.
Temperature Range Management:
Liquid crystals disappear when temperature goes beyond a certain range. If the temperature gets too high, the liquid crystal state will turn into a liquid state, causing the display to show color distortion and become inoperable. In this case, do not apply power, and the display should recover as the temperature drops. If the temperature gets too low, the liquid crystals will start to form frost, causing irreparable damage.
Furthermore, prolonged storage in extreme temperatures or exposure to vibration/shock can also lead to bubble formation in the LCD.
Electrostatic Discharge (ESD) Prevention:
During the production and assembly process, anti-static measures are crucial. Workers should wear anti-static clothing and ensure proper grounding of their bodies. The work table, soldering irons, and other equipment should also be properly grounded.
Protection Against Harmful Gases:
The organic materials like liquid crystals and polarizing films in the LCD are vulnerable to chemical reactions and degradation in the presence of harmful gases. Measures should be taken to isolate the LCD from harmful gas environments.
Additionally, after the final product assembly, do not store it sealed for an extended period, as the chemical gases from the plastic enclosure and circuit board cleaning agents can build up and damage the liquid crystals and polarizing films.
During the production process, proper protective measures must be in place to prevent harmful gases from entering the workers' bodies, and personal safety protocols should be followed.
